Expression of Interest

OUTPOST invites expressions of interest from artists from lower socio-economic backgrounds for solo shows at OUTPOST gallery. Over the next three years OUTPOST aims to contribute to the better representation of artists and practitioners from a diversity of backgrounds, by promoting upcoming artists through programming and providing beneficial developmental opportunities. The OUTPOST Creative Programme will facilitate a series of exhibitions, events, residencies, and workshops over three years, and is funded by the Arts Council England to support and provide opportunities for artists from lower-socio-economic backgrounds, and/or considers themselves as a working-class artist.

The expressions of interest will influence the selection of artists during the next three years of OUTPOST Artistic Activity. The OUTPOST Steering Committee will review expressions of interest on a regular basis and successful individuals will be invited to exhibit by a member of the steering committee.

Successful artists will be entitled to an artist fee of £880 (4 days work), a production budget of £600 to finalise the exhibition, and a £380 accommodation/travel budget. OUTPOST will provide the artist with the gallery’s photographic documentation of the exhibition, marketing, refreshments for opening and invigilation for the duration of the show.
