Eleanor Rodwell, Uninhabited

6 September - 3 October

Exhibition from 7 - 10 October, 12-6pm

Eleanor Rodwell is a Norwich-based artist, whose practice centres around the body and its response to environment and emotional experience. Her work uses this corporeality to explore personal anxieties, conflict and a maternal instinct.

During her month-long residency, Eleanor examined how the pandemic distorted her emotional relationship with the home. Previously a place of sanctuary, this slowly became dominated by tension, control and work. Over time, this evolved into an exploration of automatic mark-making, translations and abstracting the figurative.

Uninhabited brings together these processes, filling the space with new bodies of calico, soft chalk and folds of charcoal.
